It was our pleasure to share in the wedding of Helen and Tony. Their wedding, the first since we re-opened, was held on Sunday 6 June on a perfect bright and sunny day.
The Kingfisher Suite, with its stunning view across Somerset, was dressed with white chair covers and a blue sash, and complemented by a stunning floral arrangement by Jolies Fleurs, based in Gloucestershire.
Tony arrived ahead of time for his pre-wedding photos with best man Adrian, whilst bride Helen enjoyed a pampering session with professional hair and makeup in the lakeside bridal lodge, joined by her sisters and matrons of honour, Jeannine and Sam.
Helen’s dress was a beautiful strapless dress from luxury bridal boutique Rookery Bridal, based near Axbridge.
Shortly before 4pm Helen made her entrance, escorted on the arm of her father Keith, to ‘Suddenly’ by Angry Anderson playing, best known for its use during the wedding of Scott and Charlene (AKA Jason Donovan and Kylie Minogue) in the Australian TV soap ‘Neighbours’.
After the couple said their vows, and were declared husband and wife, they made their way to the drinks reception to be congratulated by their closest family and friends.
Helen and Tony chose to make use of the wedding golf buggy to have their photos on the beach at Brean; a short journey away. Photographer Mark Benton captured some stunning shots in the beautiful landscape.
The couple then enjoyed a plated buffet before hearing speeches and toasts to the happy couple. Helen and Tony then enjoyed a night in the luxury bridal lodge.
